Dear Patients and Friends,
Wow! It’s been a year since we moved into our beautiful new location. We couldn’t help but laugh, when we remembered what we were doing last 4th of July. Last year ourproject manager Joe Breslin, his wife janis, Mary, the kids and I, were on our hands and knees scrubbing floors, washing windows, scraping paint and cleaning cabinets, hoping to be ready for the planned July 9th opening. This year was a lot more fun, and I was able to spend time with my family, in a much more peaceful and relaxing way.
Speaking of family, I wanted to send out a special thank you to Suzanne, for her 16 years of friendship and service to the office and to the community. Suzanne has been part of the office for 16 of the 21 years I have been in La Mesa. All of us will miss her, as she continues her journey through life.
I also wanted to recognize the rest of our amazing team for their service:
Patsi Smith-15 yrs, Carla Gomez-14 yrs, Kim Wells-13 yrs, Catherine Dillard-7 yrs,
Liz Harter-7 yrs, and Darcy Hawkins-7 yrs. I would also like to welcome Nichole Barnes to the team, and congratulate her on her recent wedding.
Mary and I are very lucky and so grateful to work with such a talented team of ladies and friends on a daily basis. For me, they are the special ingredient in the magic of what we have the honor of doing everyday. Thanks to them and thanks to you, it’s a joy to go to work everyday.
Sincerely,
Jeff
We recently found out that our own Dr.Gray was to be honored by Ch 10, for his ongoing commitment to improving the community. The Smiles For Life charity he started has raised over $25 million worldwide, to enhance the lives of children not only in San Diego, but across the globe. Father Joe Carroll, Garth Brooks, and Sue Botos of the Padres Foundation, all contributed to the honor.

For years she had been uncomfortable with smiling and laughing, because of the way her teeth looked. She often hid her smile or laughed by raising her hand to cover her mouth. Once she found Dr Gray, and decided to proceed with enhancing her smile, her enthusiasm was contagious, like a child counting the days till Santa comes. As you can see, the results are fairly dramatic and the change- nothing short of amazing. We used a technique called “Instant Orthodontics,” which allows us to reposition and realign a smile using porcelain veneers. We have been using this technique for over a decade, and the most amazing thing is that often in a matter of hours, we can create a beautiful new smile for our patients, in the form of a “trial smile.” The “trial smile” is a beautiful and durable acrylic replica of the porcelain veneers, that allows our patients to “test drive” their new look, before going to the permanent veneers. This assures that we have created exactly what you desire as far as shape, size, color and alignment.
For Debbie, this was an especially emotional day. She was totally shocked and overwhelmed by the change, and just couldn’t say enough about the “trial smile.” She found herself smiling all the time, and having to retrain her hand, which for so many years had rushed up to hide her smile. She felt alive and vibrant and people started to notice. Friends asked her if she had started working out, or had lost weight, and even if she had changed her hair. She emailed photos of herself to family and neighbors, and they couldn’t believe the wonderful difference. One of her friends made an appointment immediately so she could smile like that, too.
The last story she shared with us, made us all laugh. While Debbie was sitting at her desk, a client of hers she has known for years kept pestering her as to what was so different. She could barely contain her laughter as he tried to guess what was making her look so good and even “glow.” Finally he said, “I’ve got it…You’re radiant and glowing…YOU MUST BE SO HAPPY BECAUSE YOU ARE PREGNANT!.” His comments made her laugh even harder, but feel so good. She hadn’t realized that although she felt happy on the inside, it didn’t always show on the outside. Her self consciousness about her smile had caused her to feel less than happy, and over time, eroded her self confidence. But now the inner happiness was so much more apparent, because she was so comfortable and confident with her new smile. As you can see, her new smile has set free the wonderful happy person she had always hoped to be.
Thanks Debbie for allowing us to share your story and congratulations (on your new smile)
