Dr Gray Honored by Padres, Major League Baseball and People Magazine
Major League Baseball and People Magazine held a contest this summer called “An All-Star Among Us.” Hundreds of nominations were submitted in each city representing major league baseball, for persons who have been leaders in their community. Dr Gray was one of the three finalists in San Diego, representing the Padres. He was nominated for his work in helping children throughout the world, by founding the Smiles For Life charity back in 1998, that to date has now raised over 25 million.
The Padres showed their appreciation to all 3 San Diego finalists by recognizing them on the field, prior to a Padre game, and giving them each a personalized Padre jersey. Thanks to all of you who went out of your way to vote and show your support for Dr Gray. “I am so thankful we had so many people go to the website and vote for me. It was very humbling and even though I didn’t win, I was honored to have been nominated.”
